Photoassisted decomposition of malonic acid on Ti[O.sub.2] studied by in situ attenuated total reflection infrared spectroscopy
Article Abstract:
The photoassisted mineralization, which is the conversion to C[O.sub.2] and water, of malonic acid over P25 Ti[O.sub.2] is investigated by using in situ attenuated total reflection infrared (ATR-IR) spectroscopy in a small volume flow-through cell. The observed transient kinetics of adsorbed malonic and oxalic acid have indicated additional pathways not involving oxalate and the rate constant for oxalate decomposition is slightly larger than the one for oxalate formation from malonic acid.

Time resolved in situ ATR spectroscopy of 2-propanol oxidation over Pd/Al2O3: evidence for 2-propoxide intermediate
Article Abstract:
An investigation was conducted on the oxidation of 2-proponal over Pd/Al2O3 catalyst using the in situ attenuated total reflection infrared spectroscopy on a flow-through cell combined with online UV-vis spectroscopy. The results of the investigation indicate that adsorbed hydrogen and oxygen limit the dissociate adsorption of 2-proponal and 2-propoxide can be hydrogenated back to the reactant in the presence of adsorbed hydrogen.

ATR-IR flow-through cell for concentration modulation excitation spectroscopy: Diffusion experiments and simulations
Article Abstract:
A new attenuated total reflection infrared (ATR-IR) cell is designed and its performance is studied by modulation excitation spectroscopy (MES). Significant differences in the diffusion behavior of a small relatively fast-diffusing molecule, acetonitrile and that of a large slow-diffusing molecule, hemoglobin is observed.
